And now the Year Begins ...

I feel like i've been on a rollercoaster of parties, entertaining, and more parties!! The last one was this weekend - Friday night. Now, I need a month 'in', detoxing and getting on with things at home.

And so I started today with the big Greenhouse tidy! It was sunny and warm - as long as you stood in the sun or the greenhouse - and so perfect for clearning everything down, and getting ready for the new planting season.

So while Mr Marmalade dusted out all the cobwebs ..

I organised my seed filing system ...

And planted my first seeds of the year!!

And just so all my loose ends are all nice and tidy, I'd like to say a huge THANKYOU to all of you for all the lovely comments and good wishes you've left about my birthday. I'd also like apologise for my tardy or absent responses to your lovely emails, and assure you that normal service will now be resumed.

That looks like the first salute to spring and summer happening there. What a lovely feeling it must be.

Oh how I would love a green house! I grew beans last year! and some tomatoes I tried corgettes but the slugs kept eating the flowers... I must have a crowd of slugs with jet packs as they could levitate over the last resort slug pellets!
I admitted defeat!

It is starting feel like things should be happening around the garden doesn't it? You're much further ahead than us, we've been trying to get a bit more of our allotment cleared and so far the soil has been against us. But a little bit at a time. I have been eyeing up the seed catalogues though ..... well you have to be prepared don't you.

You're reminding me that I need to start thinking about my garden now - we have a lot of work to do!

Sounds like you had a fabulous birthday with some lovely treats. x

Oh my word - it can't be seed sowing time yet...I thought I had months to go! I may have to rifle through my seed stash this weekend :-)

Slight greenhouse-envy happening here. I have one of those teeny tiny plastic ones - tied to the fence after it blew away twice!

That's right - make me feel guilty!

I've not even thought about the year ahead in the garden...yet.
