Come Back Bolly!

When I was ill a few weeks ago, I was very very bored. Being ill is such a waste of time, having no energy but to flop about in bed. I made the best possible use of my time however, and watched the entire series of Ashes to Ashes in one day on iPlayer, even though i'd watched all but the last episode already.

Ahhhhhh, such nostalgia! Such a good soundtrack, and I know i'm not the only one who feels strangely wrong about finding DCI Gene Hunt rather irrisistibly attractive. I can't wait till the next series. Monday nights seem quite empty now.

This sunglasses case is what I made as soon as I felt well enough to be incharge of a sewing machine again .... very 80's don't you think? It came entirely from my subconcious as I didn't intend for it to be retro at all!

Nice glasses case - I do like polka dots. Have never seen Ashes to Ashes, but will have to try and catch it next time it's on.

Hope you enjoyed Amsterdam - the rooftop pics from your last post look lovely!

Ah, yes, very 80s! I loved Life on Mars but haven't watched Ashes to Ashes at all for some reason. I fear I may have been missing out!

My "guilty nostalgia crush" (as my friend kelly calls them) is Paul Robinson in Neighbours!! Don't ask me why!

Gene Hunt falls into the same catergory, Attractive in a "God knows why" kind of way!!! That and Philip Schofield, Now I feel I may be showing my age, altho I always had a thing for older men, honest!!!

And besides which kelly's G.N.C is Chris Evans!!! And that's gotta be worse, right??

Jealous of Amsterdam!! Never been, wish I had/could!!

I'm with you on the Gene Genie. Terrible business, but he has such good taste in overcoats.

Huge huge Ashes to ashes fans at this house. When hubby takes his car to the garage, the bloke who owns the garage lends him an exact replica of the red Quatro for the day!! It looks stunning, but I sat in the back for a blast last time and it was deafening!! We also know Dean Andrews (Ray). His daughter is at college with my daughter and they have been through school together. He's much more attractive in real life (no perm!!) and he has the most gorgeous blue eyes. My son is hoping to get Dean Andrews to drive the Quatro for his "prom ride" in a couple of years time!!!

I missed the last episode of ashes to ashes due to being away and by the time I got back it was no longer on iplayer... :-( so I dont know how it ended.. dont tell me... I hope to catch a re-run on BBC3 or 4 sometime before the next series is released! And yes... Gene Hunt (as a character you understand) has def got something!

That glasses cases is wonderful, Julia...love the spots! It's always sad when a favorite series on TV ends, and sometimes we "mourn" the loss for quite some time--years even--LOL! I LOVED the series "Cold Feet" from a few years back and miss that one! Happy weekend :o) ((HUGS))

We're missing Ashes to Ashes too! But although I loved it I never felt it was quite as good as Life on Mars - maybe I just noticed the music more in LoM? And I had a good long think the other week about why Gene Hunt seemed so attractive and I think it was all to do with the very cleverly acted chemistry between him and Bolly. I don't think he would seem attractive in another role - what do you think?

Great glasses case by the way!
