One of the other projects i finally got round to this rainy weekend, was this heat mat for my GHDs. Actually, as with most of the best laid plans, in hindsight I should have made it as a "sock" but a heat mat is fine too. It unfolds when I'm using the straightners, and the reason I made ties at either end is for when I travel and have to stuff freshly used hot irons in a bag full of clothes in a hurry.

What a brilliant idea, and I love your choice of fabrics (as usual). I tried hair straighteners once but I am a bit too clumsy to be waving hot things behind my head where I can't directly see them. I seem to remember singing my ear, sigh. I do like it when the hairdresser does it for me though!
Fantastic idea! I could do with some ear protectors when I'm wielding my straighteners...
Wow thats lovely! Great idea! xx
Super idea...and very stylish and happy to use! Happy weekend ((HUGS))
That is brilliant idea why didn't i wake up smart like that. The look's of it clean looking i just love it!
Great idea - and I love the red fabric.
I could do with making something like that for my irons - I am terrified that my children could get hold of them whilst hot, so they usually end up perched on a high shelf (very decoratively!) while they cool.
What a great idea! Mine always gets hung after use, but can never be used if I'm travelling that day. I'd never thought of a heat pad.
Love the fabric too!
oooh, what a fab idea! Many a time I have stood in a hotel reception, checking out whilst clutching an overnight bag in one hand and my GHD's in the other..always scared of the safety element!I think you could make some money out of that!
