The Scent of Summer

It's British strawberry season! Hurrah! Mr Marmalade can't stand strawberries but Jimmy and I love them especially with liberal amounts of double cream. I soak mine in rose syrup for a while before adding the cream. I do this with raspberries too, and I also add rose essence to my Eton Mess.

Sometimes I just add rose essence to whipped cream, and sandwich it between two meringues. HEAVEN.

I also add a smidgin of rose syrup to my G&T .

Apart from eating strawberries and photographing my roses, I have also been catching up on the Allotment

A rose lace G & T... Eton Mess...thank goodness it's summer--hooray! :o) But your hubby doesn't like strawberries? Shock-horror... Never heard of such a thing--LOL! I love strawberry time. We had sliced strawberries in a sugar syrup over ice cream this weekend--gorgeous simplicity. Hope you are feeling better, Julia... I'm sure a little extra strawberries is helping. :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

Rose flavoured G&T? I think I may have just died and gone to heaven.

Where do you find the rose syrup? I think it qualifies as essential groceries ...

I have had such a glut of strawberries this year!
My husband doesnt understand that when something is in season you have to eat them, once they are gone they are gone!

I've made jam and today I've tried sorbet for the first time ever!

I shall prob blog about it tomorrow.
