Brown Paper Packages ...

Wrapped up with String...

"When the dog bites, When the bee stings, When I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things, And then I don't feel, so bad" ..

Oh how true how true!!

So yesterday when I arrived home from a REALLY CRAPPY day at work, there were two parcels on my doorstep! The first from Ebay - just to get it out of the way ... nice isn't it?

But it wasn't the one with the brown paper and the string .. oh no .. that was from :

Oh lordy lordy lord!! I was, and am still, utterly OVERHWELMED!!! Now you will savour this parcel as much as I did .. first of all, look at her lovely gift tag!

And it was attached to this parcel ..

which was attached to this book ...

And in the parcel, was this lovely fabric! ... Look at that metallic rose fabric .. I think VERY MarmaladeKiss, but Jenny is very astute and has always seemed to sense the essential "me". That indicates to me, that she must be a good listener... I will certainly make something delicious from this lovely little stash.

And inside the book, a knitting pattern!! I'm picturing dark and cold evenings by the fire, knitting black hotpants with red satin trims...

But the Piece de Resistance! From Jenny's dad .. this exquisite ring box which he made.

Isn't it the most lovely thing? Jenny's dad is a woodturner. I love wooden things. I love trees. I love to feel the spirit in the tree that this once was. I shall treasure it forever and ever.

And Jenny included a button ring to put in it .. and those hair grips up there too ... and beads like macaroni!

Thank you Jenny! Thank you so much! You really really made my day!

What a gorgeous little parcel. I've seen that spirelli on cards before but never on scalloped , what a clever idea. I love the wooden box too, look how he's made the most of the grain, beautiful!

Hi,
I see that you have not got the award that I was given a few weeks ago. Please come abd copy it to your blog. It is in the side bar, white lined background and black writing with a heart. I think you could look at it during the quiet hour in the morning. My child has started year 1 and my husband enjoys the quiet day as he works from home. Me? Well in swap one child for hundereds for a very noisy day as I am a teacher! Ho hum!! Like the look of the wallet. :-)
