The Tree of Happiness

I have also been passed this Tree of Happiness meme from Summerfete! Thank you !

There are many things which make me happy, and generally the things I have are them. These are the first 6 I can think of:

1. Home: We're not rich, and we don't live in a castle. But we worked very hard to be able to buy the house we wanted which is just big enough for the three of us, and in a very beautiful location. Our village is a lovely place, quintessentially English, with wonderful traditions, lovely people and a real community. Every day I look around me with awe and wonder at how lucky we are to live here.

(sorry about the snow!)

2. Family: Mr Marmalade and I have been together for 17 years and it still feels like the first five minutes. Our son makes us very proud. We think he's perfect (though he would choke if he heard me say that!). September will see his 13th birthday, he's growing up so fast, we are cherishing every moment left of his childhood (that's about 10 days before "kevin" appears). I don't have any family, but Mr Mk has a huge one, which I feel privileged to be part of.

3. Friends: Good friends are hard to come by. The sort you can let your hair down with, be yourself, warts and all. Friendship is one of the things I treasure most.

4. Nature: One of the greatest things I have ever been taught, is how to find beauty anywhere. It is all around us in nature, all the time. If i'm angry or sad or just generally out of sorts, all I need to do is look around me, and the simplest thing can make a world of difference in less time than it takes to gasp.

5. Allotment and Chicken Keeping: I love my allotment, and I love my chickens. When my seeds sprout I get very very excited, and my chickens make me grin from ear to ear just watching them. There's nothing quite like the feeling of pride and joy you get when serving up a whole meal, delicious and nutritions, made up entirely of produce you have nurtured yourself.

6. Creativity: I have always been creative, be it through cooking, drawing, sewing, crafting, recycling and re-purposing. Making things makes me happy. Sharing the things i've made, makes me happier!

So now I have to pass the happiness on to 6 inspirational blogs and where I chose old favourites for the last award, this time I am choosing new(ish) favourites:

All Things Lovely : Positive thinking in the face of adversity!
Moogsmum : Great sense of humour and Joie de Vivre!
Lucy Locket : Unbelievable time management skill (I am constantly in awe)!
23 Beech Hill : Beeeeeeeoooooooooootiful work!
Fan My Flame : Have you seen what Gina can do with a Sainsbury's bag??
A Spoonful of Sugar : Lots of crafty ideas

Rules:
I can't find any!!

A lovely post! Thanks for tagging me - my 6 things are probably very similar to yours - family, home, real-life friends, bloggy-friends, crafting and my allotment! Lucy x

Lovely post and thank you for tagging me... I will get around to doing this one I promise, although like Lucy I've a sneeky suspicion it might all sound familiar!

Lovely post! The Kevin thing really made me laugh! To be honest, I get the odd hint of how my two are going to be as teenagers already, with certain looks and chat-back and they're only 4 and 2! Oh I can't wait!
